Salute e Società
(Health and Society) is an Italian journal of Sociology of health
published in Italian and English. Sociology of health is concerned with
the social dimensions of health: organization; disability; addiction;
ageing; voluntary associations and care; evaluation of health care;
social inequalities and health; health communication; medicalization and
other related topics. The aim of the Journal is to advance social
sciences knowledge about health in its various forms.
Salute e Società
was founded in 2002 and is published, by FrancoAngeli
Franco Angeli Editore (Milano),
any four months (April;
August; December). The Scientific
Editor is Costantino Cipolla, Professor of
Sociology of Health at Università degli Studi di Bologna.
The minimum size of any
volume is 208 pages. Periodically, Salute e Società has Special
Issues or Supplements.
Double-blind peer review, in which both
authors and referees are anonymous, is ensured, except for Editorial,
Introduction, Round Table and Notes.

made up by promiment professors and scholars, not only Italians, in
Sociology of health or related disciplines (Medicine included)

scientific level of the series
Scientific
Committee:
planning of Salute e Società and the scientific level of the
series, among its members: the representative of the Medical
Sociology Section of the Italian Sociological Association and the
President of the European Society of Sociology of Health and
Medicine
Technical-Scientific Secretary:
coordinates and take care of the editing of any single number,
includind the correspondance with the referees.
Editorial
Board: composed by young scientists and professors, they often
help in translations, editing, organization of seminars based on
Salute e Società articles or on the presentation of a new
issues, they also collaborate in writing the Notes section
Local
Editorial Boards: Italian correspondants of Salute e Società, they often
promote and organize local presentation of the new issues of
Salute e Società, they also collaborate in writing the Notes
section
International
correspondances: they propose foreign articles, make referee on
english articles. They also can be editor of an issue.
Any number of Salute e Società is edited by an expert (or more), who
is responsible for the scientific level of the single issue.
Together with the Technical-Scientific Secretary, the editor
takes care of the referee’ opinions (two for every single article).
Internally Salute e Società is organized in different areas:
Editorial, Introduction, Essays, Round table,
Research,
Debates, Reviews,
Notes.
Any article is provided by an English abstract.
The planning of the issues of Salute e Società arrives until 2013.

e Società. Nor are people who write for it.
